She is so entitled; it is still an investment that might have been worth it. She could have had a chef that she trusts, who might be willing to do a family discount and go out of his way for her, but now he just has a nephew that resents her for being disrespected and expected to work for free.

It would behoove our protagonist to pay back all the money his aunt spent on his tuition, cutting all of the invisible strings she attached to what he thought was a kind gesture.

Aunt covers 20-year-old nephew's culinary school tuition, later expects free catering from him for massive engagement party: "You wouldn't have this opportunity if we didn't invest in you"
Artists, creators, and crafty people of the World Wide Web, do you give your friends and family a discount? As an artist, I find it incredibly difficult to ask for any money from the people close to me, preferring to make them small, personalized gifts over selling my bigger pieces. I also love a good art trade. I recently designed a t-shirt for a friend; in return, she made me some beautiful plates. My generosity makes me a pretty bad business woman, but I would still feel really put off if a friend or relative expected me to give them something I spent hours on and poured my heart into for free.
In our story today, our protagonist, a budding chef fresh out of culinary school, is expected to make free food for his family whenever they want. He relents for a while, but he has to draw the line somewhere, and that somewhere turns out to be free catering at an engagement party for 50 people. The problem is the one who requested his services is his aunt who paid for his education. Scroll down for more.
